Testing candidate skills is an integral part of the recruitment process. Our Pre-employment skill-testing platform lets you create a test, invite the candidates & analyze the reports to take the best hiring decisions.


There are 4 ways to create a test
A) Creating a Test with Interview Mocha’s skill library.
B) Creating a Test with your own uploaded questions.
C) Creating a Test with a combination of Interview Mocha’s skill library and your own questions
D) Requesting for a Custom Test, which is exclusively created for you as per the job description provided


A) Creating a Test with Interview Mocha’s skill library

  1. Under My Tests tab click Create Test (located at the right top corner)
  2. In the box that appears, enter the test name and click Save

        The below window opens




   3. Click Add Skill

   4. The below pop-up opens


       





In Skill Library, select Interview Mocha and select the type of questions that you need in the test.

   5. From the Skills tab, click the drop down menu and select the skill you want to add



5. Click Next


The below window opens


Section Name- You can edit the section name here
No of Questions- You can enter the number of questions for this section
Time (Minutes) - You can enter the time (in minutes) you want to allot for this section



Selection of Questions is divided into two parts- Automated Selection and Manual Selection
5.1 Automated Selection - If you select Automated selection, the system will auto-select the questions from the entire skill library. E.g. If the number of questions for a section is 10, with Automated selection, any 10 questions from the library will appear in the test. In this case, you will not know which questions will appear in the test. After making any changes, please click Save Skill, for the changes to take effect. After the first save, any further changes will be auto- saved.


Notes:
By default, Automated Selection is always enabled unless you choose to select questions manually.

Please check if the Randomization feature is enabled in Test settings. If Randomization is enabled, any 30 questions from the skill bank will appear in the test. If Randomization is disabled, the first 30 questions from the skill bank will appear in the test sequentially.


5.2 Select Questions Manually - If you choose Manual selection, then you can view and select each question that you want to appear in the test. Refer to the image below to know the functionality. 


 

  You can also view the question properties as below


  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Answer Questions (MAQ), True or False and so on
  • No of Points: 1 Points, 2 points, 3 points and so on
  • Difficulty Level of Question: Easy, Medium, or High
  • Tags- Any tags that are allotted to the question


5.4 Click Save Skill to add the selected skill

(Note: Please Click Save skill after you make any changes.)


Important: If you want 5 questions in the assessment and choose only 3 manually, 2 questions will be auto-selected

                    If you want 5 questions in the assessment and choose 6, any 5 of your chosen questions will appear. 

Please check if the Randomization feature is enabled in Test settings. If Randomization is enabled, any 5 of your chosen questions will appear in the test. If Randomization is disabled, the chosen questions will appear in the test sequentially.



6. Section-wise negative marking

     You can choose to apply negative marking to the entire test or only to a particular section in the test. 


  •    To set Negative Marking
  •    Click Settings icon under Actions 



  • Select the negative marking settings 


  •  Click Save


Coding Questions
For Coding questions, please click Coding Questions with the skill library as Interview Mocha.




The process for adding skills is the same, however for coding, you can choose one or more coding languages in which the candidate can answer.



B) Creating a Test with your own uploaded questions
The procedure is the same for creating a test with your uploaded questions. Only instead of Interview Mocha you need to select My Questions in skill library as shown below. 



Note: To create tests with your own questions, you must upload the questions first. Skills shown by Interview Mocha are default whereas you can manage the categories & skill of your own questions. Click How to upload own questions to know more.


Coding Questions
To create a test with coding questions uploaded by you, select Coding Questions with the Skill library as My Questions. 

The process for adding skills is the same, however for coding, you can choose one or more coding languages in which the candidate can answer. Click How to upload your coding questions to know more. 



C) Creating a Test with a combination of Interview Mocha questions and your own uploaded questions
You can even create a test with a combination of Interview Mocha questions and your own uploaded questions. 

  1. Under My Tests tab click Create Test (located at the right top corner)
  2. In the box that appears, enter the test name and click Save
  3. From the Skill Library select Interview Mocha 
  4. Select the skill from the drop down menu
  5. Choose between Automated or Manual Selection of questions
  6. Click Save

        

To add the next section 

1.Click My Questions from the Skill Library

2.Select the skill from the drop down menu

3. Choose between Automated or Manual Selection of Questions

4. Click Save


The test sections will be displayed as below 



Under Skill Library, Quantitative Aptitude (shown in the image above) is used from Interview Mocha skill library whereas Logic is used from the skill set uploaded by you in your account (My Questions). 

Hence you have created a test, where one section comprises questions from Interview Mocha’s skill library and other section comprises of your own uploaded questions. 



D) Requesting a Custom Test
Did not get the skill test you were looking for? You can ask Interview Mocha’s team to create the questions from Subject Matter Experts.

Simply, drop a mail at support@interviewmocha.com addressing your requirements or job description, our Subject Matter Expert will help you to create a test.

Note: Custom test creation is available only to the paid customers as per the chosen package.



Frequently Asked Questions


1) If I Make any changes, but forget to click Save, will it be auto-saved?

Auto-Save function works only after you have clicked Save Skill for the first time. For .E.G. if you click Add Skill and just change the Section Name and close the window, it will not be saved. For any change that you perform for the first time, you will have to click on Save Skill for it to be stores. Any changes later will be Auto-Saved. 


2) Where is the General Question Category?
There is no General Question Category. All questions apart from Coding come under General Questions. If you select Coding questions, then only coding questions will appear.
 

3) How do I merge sections?
If you want to add two or more skill sets to a single section, you can simply enter similar names of the sections. For E.G if you want to add, numerical reasoning and verbal ability under the same section, you can name the section either numerical reasoning or verbal ability.

4) What happens if I select 5 out of my 10 questions manually and forget to select the rest 5?
No worries, in that case, your selected 5 will appear in the test and the system will auto-select the rest 5.
 
5) What happens if I select 15 questions but the test is only for 10 questions?
Any 10 out of your 15 selected questions will appear in the test.

6) How will it affect my selection if I have enabled Randomization of questions in Test settings?

  • For Automated selection- The system will select questions from skill library that will appear non-sequentially. 
  • For Manual selection- The questions selected by you from skill library will appear non-sequentially.


7) What happens if I choose Interview Mocha and Coding questions?

In this case, Coding Questions from Interview Mocha skill library will be displayed.
 
8) What happens if I choose My Questions and Coding questions?
In this case, Coding questions uploaded by you will be displayed.
